Did you know that there are ways to make money advertising on your car? It’s true! If you have a car and don’t mind getting a little creative, then this blog post is for you.
In this blog post, we will discuss how to make car bucks by advertising on your car (if you are car owners), what steps to take in order to make sure you do it the right way, and which companies you should go with so that you don’t get scammed.
About a year ago, I had no idea that you could make car bucks by putting advertisements on your car. That all changed, though, one evening. I got a text from a friend who told me that Rockstar Energy drinks was looking for people to wrap their car in Rockstar advertisements. If you did it, you’d get paid up to $700 a month!
I don’t know about you but $700 a month to drive around normally while advertising an energy drink was totally worth it in my book. (My wife had different thoughts, though. And, after reading more about how to make thsi way, I realized that this was probably a scam anyway.)
Even though I didn’t end up doing it, I started noticing more and more people driving around town with their cars wrapped. Obviously it was working for some people and I wanted to figure out how it worked and whether or not there really was money to be made by advertising on your car.
Can You Really Earn Money From Your Car?

This is the real question, right? Because if you can’t make some money, then there’s no need to even discuss the topic.
But guess what? You CAN make real money and lots of people are doing it.
However, you have to be careful of scams because there are a lot of people out there who want to take your car bucks and not give you anything in return.
So, let’s look at some of the car wrap scams out there with car advertising so that you can be sure to avoid them in the future.
Car Wrap Companies Don’t Pay A Ton
The first thing to remember about how to earn money by advertising on your car is that car wrap companies won’t pay you a ton of money to advertise. While there are times that you might get paid more, most car advertising companies will pay around $200 a month.
While $200 is a good amount of money just for doing your normal driving, it ‘s not a lot of money when you consider that they’re getting the use and exposure to your wrapped car for months at time. It’s not going to make you a millionaire overnight.
Legitimate Companies Don’t Ask For Any Money

The next thing to watch out for is that legitimate car wrapping companies won’t ask you for any money upfront. If they do, RUN AWAY as fast as you can. It’s definitely a scam. If a company asks you for money up front, it’s because they’re going to take your money and run.
Also, legitimate car wrapping companies won’t ask you for a monthly service cost; if they do, it’s because they want the exposure without having anything invested in it themselves. So, if someone asks us up front fees before starting this project (or even worse-a recurring payment), RUN AWAY as fast possible!!!
The Company Should Pay For The Wrapping
Finally, if you do find a car wrapping company to work with, the car advertising company itself should be who pays for the wrap installation and taking off the wrap. If they want you to pay, it’s because they want to take your money without giving you anything in return.
A reputable company should pay to get the vehicle wrapped, as well taking off of it when you’re done with their contract or if there is a change in ownership on either side (you sell/trade-in).
The only exception would be an agreement that was made before any work started where both parties agreed upfront who pays what costs; but this type situation will not happen often! So don’t worry about paying up front fees unless all other options have been exhausted first, and even then I still wouldn’t recommend doing so until after some research has taken place into how reputable these companies are beforehand.
If you think about it, the legitimate car advertising companies who want to place advertising on your car are not shady. They’re legitimate, and they do so because businesses need more customers in order for their business to grow. They do so at the behest of real businesses looking for advertising to grow their business.
How to Advertise On Your Car

OK, so now that we’ve talked about the different ways that scammers might target you, let’s talk about the real ways that you can make money by car wrap advertising.
It’s a multi-step onboarding process, as follows:
1. Find a legitimate car wrapping company
The first step to take in order to make money by car wrap advertising is to find the right company to work with.
The best way to find legit companies is to look for a car advertising company that has been in business at least five years.
(Down below in the next section I have a list of legit companies looking for drivers.)
The next best way to find one is by looking on the Better Business Bureau website and seeing if they have any complaints against them or not, as well how many reviews there are about their service online (and what those ratings say).
You can also look up companies with BBB’s seal of approval–those will be legitimate too! Finally you could ask friends who advertise themselves whether it was worth doing so; this should give an idea from someone else whose opinion might matter more than yours does because he/she actually did go through all these steps before making his decision himself…so maybe your friend knows something important?
Either way, do some research first! You definitely don’t want to take your chances with a popular car advertising company that might not be reputable.
2. Apply

The next step is to apply to work with the car wrapping company. In order to become an independent contractor with the company, you should fill out the application form and send it in to them. Usually this is done online.
The company will then review your personal information, which may take a few days or weeks depending on how quickly they get back with you about their decision (if at all).
If accepted as an independent contractor for this particular site/company–you’re good! You’ll be able to move on to the next step which is usually taking your car to a dealer to get wrapped. If you’re not approved…well, there there are other companies who might be hiring.
Either way, just remember that even if one company doesn’t accept your application, there are other companies that might so don’t give up after the first rejection.
3. Take your car to get wrapped
If you’re at this step, AWESOME! That means that a company has accepted your application and you’re ready to start getting paid.
But before you get that cash, you need to go and get your car or truck wrapped.
The way this works is that you take your car to a professional decal installer, and they’ll wrap it with the logo.
Different car advertising companies have different stipulations on what kinds of advertisements that they require on your car. Some legitimate car advertising companies might only require you to have an advertisement on your rear windows for example, while another company might require you to wrap your entire car in a vinyl decal.
Either way, these advertisements don’t harm your car or paint job in any way.
(That’s another reason to choose a professional and make sure you don’t get scammed. Professionals know how to do the job right the first time without messing up your car at all.)
4. Drive for the length of the contract

Once you’ve got a company to advertise on your car, the next thing to do is drive around. Most companies don’t have any special driving requirements — they just want you to drive around “normally.”
This is the easiest part because you’re just driving around like you normally would.
If the company requires that your car be parked in a specific location, they’ll tell you where to park it and how long for (usually 12 hours).
If not then drive as normal! The only difference is now there’s an advertisement on one of your rear windows (or the whole car), which in all honesty you’ll probably forget about after the first or second day.
Different companies have different timelines for paying you so you’ll want to be sure that you know what those are so you can be sure to get paid when you’re suppose to.
5. Renew your contract or find another company
Once your contract is up, then it’s time to figure out if the company you’re working for has other advertising assignments. If so, you can continue to work with them with the same advertisements or different ones.
If not, then you can go back to step 2 and apply with the other companies on the list.
If the company wants to advertise on your car, or if you decide to go with a different car wrapping company, that first company will pay to have your advertisements professionally removed.
And just like when you had them put on, there should be no problems or issues with your car when you have them taken off. Again, this is why you should use a reputable car wrapping company.
5 Companies That Pay You To Advertise On Your Car

And that brings us to looking at a few different car advertising companies that you should consider if you’re interested in how to earn money this way.
Just as an FYI, I haven’t used any of these companies but they have passed the scam test and have been in business for a good while.
Carvertise

OK, let’s start with one of the oldest car advertising firms out there: Carvertise.
Carvertise is an old company that has been around since the early 2000s. They have a lot of experience in this field and they are one I would recommend to anyone looking for how to earn money this way, especially if you’re just starting out with little or no budget at all!
Carvertise makes it easy to start earning money with them. They have it down to a very simple four-step process:
- Submit an application
- Get matched to a brand that likes your driving habits (remember that you need a clean driving record with good driving history)
- Get your car wrapped and get paid every month
- Get your car unwrapped at the end of the campaign
Once you submit your application online and get approved, you get matched with brands that are advertising in your area. One of the great things about Carvertise is that you always have the opportunity to accept or decline to advertise a certain brand. This means that if you don’t feel comfortable with a certain brand for any reason, you don’t have to advertise with them and you won’t be penalized.
StickerRide

Next on our list is a company called StickerRide. StickerRide is a company that specializes in car and truck vinyl wraps.
They offer a variety of different types and styles for your vehicle, from full-car to partial wrap designs with the option between vinyl or digital printing as well!
StickerRide is an easy way make some money by advertising on cars because they have such high quality products.
The process starts when you submit their application online which will be reviewed within 24 hours if approved then matched up based off driving habits – so it’s not just about where but how often too!
One of the things that makes StickerRide different is that if you get accepted as a driver, you use a mobile app whenever you are driving for an advertising campaign to keep track of your driving habits and driving routes.
StickerRide’s’ process is a little different than the Carvertise process, though.
- Download the StickerRide app (for Android or iPhone) and register your car
- Choose a campaign and select the type of advertisements you want to use
- Visit one of the professional wrapping installers and have your advertisements put on your car
- Open the app and drive as normal so that the app can record how many miles you’ve driven and pay you accordingly
It’s really a simple process and if you’re interested in making money this way, StickerRide is definitely one of the companies you should consider.
ReferralCars

ReferralCars is another company that pays you to drive with advertisements. However, unlike other companies on this list, ReferralCars will provide you with advertising campaigns that are both commissioned-based campaigns and non-commissioned-based campaigns.
Another thing that differentiates ReferralCars from the other companies on this list is that they mostly deal with smaller decals instead of car wraps. What that means is that if you don’t want to get your entire car wrapped but would rather opt for a smaller advertisement on your car, you can.
Wrapify

The next company on the list is Wrapify, which is another company that specializes in car wraps.
Wrapify is another app-based company that is pays drivers depending on different factors measured by the app.
The way it differs from other companies, though, is that after you download the app, you turn it on and then start driving with the app on. You then just drive your normal commute to start qualifying for advertising campaigns and then you’ll start receiving offers.
Once you get matched to a campaign, you can accept it, get wrapped, and then start driving (and making money). Remember, you’ll need have car insurance.
Wrapify will work with most cars but like the car wrap companies, it does screen out certain cars or other vehicles that don’t meet certain criteria. Check out their website and app for more information.
One thing that is a little different with Wrapify is that you have to pass a background check before you can start driving with them. Basically, what that means is that you need to have had 2 or fewer accidents in the past three years.
Free Car Media

The last car wrap company on our list is called Free Car Media. With this company, you can earn up to about $400 a month by having your car fully or partially wrapped in a company’s advertisement.
You fill out our online application and tell them about yourself. When you are selected to have your car advertised on, the company will contact you through email with an agreement that includes the duration of time it is going to be posted for. You’ll need to make sure to always keep your email address updated so the company can stay in touch with you.
One of the differences between Free Car Media and other car wrap companies is that many of the advertisers who work with them tend to require drivers to have the advertisements on their car for anywhere between 6 and 24 months. So you’ll want to make sure that you don’t sign up for a campaign if you’re not willing to have the advertisement on your car for so long.
Wrap Up
While there are a a ton of ways to earn money with your car, getting paid for wrapping your car with advertisements is a pretty simple way to make extra money without changing your driving habits AND, most importantly, without costing you anything in upfront costs.
So, to recap, if you’re interested in learning how to make money this way, you’ll want to:
First, find a company that you like and is willing work with your car.
Second, make sure the campaign length will be long enough for it not interfere too much in day-to -day life.
Third, have them wrap or paint on whatever advertisement of theirs would best suit what type vehicle yours are!
And last but certainly NOT least… get paid extra money every month from now until forever just by driving around town as usual!
